earlier this afternoon (on XM 169 "The Power") and Ogletree laid it all out, from Gates' perspective, regarding what happened. He mentioned that he would be working with Gates on the case. Will definitely be monitoring.

On one hand, you can tell that Gates has been living in an ivory tower for a loooong time. His refusal to show his "papers" the millisecond the cop asked for them shows that he's forgotten all the crap that black people, particularly black men, go through on a regular basis.

On the other hand, that he was still questioned and HANDCUFFED even after he'd shown his ID is inexcusable. There is no question that at that point, those cops were determined to take this Uppity Negro down a couple of notches.

I am so sick of the assholes on this board who constantly make excuses for cops.

The police dept. chose the wrong man to do this to. The story doesn't make sense. If his neighbor called the police it would seem that the neighbor would have been able to vouch for his identity.

anyone who thinks its ok for cops to arrest black men because they had the audacity to enter their homes through the back door is an idiot. There is a level of racism that seems to be acceptable here IMO.

I've been wasting quite a bit of time with at least two of them. Although one specific one from that thread hasn't been seen in awhile.

One is mad at me because he said I called him a freeper. I had said that if he/she were going to hold themselves up as superior to freepers they ought not sound like one. It's a pain in the ass when you have to tell someone you're calling them a freeper after you call them a freeper. It seems rather redundant but these apologists aren't the brightest bulb in the box. (More like the bulb that blows out the entire string)

Raineyb, angee_is_mad, me and about 10-12 other people had one yesterday. She just kept insisting that Gates was in the wrong. She even suggested that Gates should have THANKED the cops after they came to his house and arrested him for no reason. :crazy:

Pretty bad, right?? Then she took the stupid and crazy a step further and informed us that she was black herself! Just goes to show you that racism apologists come in all colors.
