He doesn't need to have the exact same heritage as Michelle to share the legacy of it. When my grandmother's parent who were African American and Jamaican were alive nobody looked at them and said that one can eat at the lunch counter but the other ones needs a to go bag. I'd never advocate ignoring the nuances in a person's background but thinking that slight differences such as whether or not somebody is a direct descendant of slaves held in the US makes a difference today is willfully ignorant at best.

It's not even about being descended from 'slaves.' There are thousands of us who are descendants from FREED blacks!! Some who were NEVER slaves, but NO LESS AFRICAN!!! The bottom line, this man can be 'deemed' ANYTHING OTHER THAN A NIGGER!! THAT kind of mindset can ONLY be derived from RACISTS or RACIALISTS!! I choose the later.
