Fourteen Air Force recruiters have been honored as the best in their field in the 29th iteration of Operation Blue Suit.

The Operation Blue Suit program recognizes recruiters for “their efforts in recruiting a diverse, high-quality volunteer force to fill career fields critical to the Air Force,” according to an Air Force press release. The program began in 1979 to increase competition among recruiters and help boost numbers during the lulls of February through May.

“These are challenging times our nation faces and all of our military recruiters are doing a fantastic job in meeting the goals,” said Brig. Gen. Suzanne Vautrinot, commander, Air Force Recruiting Service. “The operations in Iraq and Afghanistan have tested our ranks, as well as the will of all Americans, but well-qualified young men and women continue to serve — a real testament to the tremendous quality of our countrymen, our Air Force and its recruiters.”

The winners will be honored at a ceremony March 3-7 in San Antonio.
