Ex-Marine's lapse brings 4-year prison term
Dakota County / Probation revoked in 2006 DWI death

<snip>
Klecker had been on probation after pleading guilty in 2007 to criminal vehicular homicide. While driving drunk on Oct. 28, 2006, he crashed into a median on Interstate 494 in South St. Paul and caused the death of 16-year-old Deanna Casey, a Simley High School cheerleader from Inver Grove Heights.

Rather than put Klecker behind bars, Dakota County District Judge David Knutson gave him a chance to avoid a 57-month prison term — and have a shot at lasting sobriety. He ordered Klecker, a former Marine, to complete treatment for alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder at a state veterans hospital.

During a lull in treatment, Hunter said, Klecker got into a verbal argument with another patient, which escalated when other patients became involved. The hospital asked Klecker to stay elsewhere for a few days until his next treatment phase was to begin.

"He was just four days away from starting his PTSD treatment when he was discharged for that argument," Hunter said. "Nothing physical was alleged to have happened. It was just a verbal argument."

This is really sad and frustrating. This Marine who had served in Iraq had still not received any treatment for PTSD and the Veteran's Administration now has him off their books and the chances of him regaining his life have gotten very, very slim.

1. No offense, but any soldier that expects decent treatment from the USA war-machine is dreaming.

Live and die quietly.
