2 killed in helicopter crash in Afghanistan

Two coalition service members were killed in a helicopter crash Thursday afternoon on a routine maintenance mission near Kandahar, Afghanistan, according to a press release from Combined Joint Task Force 101.

The names and nationalities of the two dead crew members were not released because the next of kin had not yet been notified.

According to the release, the cause of the incident is under investigation, and there were no reports of hostile activity in relation to the crash.
