Five airmen stationed at Hurlburt Field, Fla., who were caught racing their motorcycles on an Alabama interstate at speeds of more than a 140 mph might be itching to join your carpool.

Seven airmen were charged with of reckless endangerment in August. The five from Hurlburt have had their on-base driving privileges revoked for a year and subjected to additional administrative punishments, according to a spokesperson at Hurlburt’s 1st Special Operations Wing.

Airmen Master Sgt. Arthur Jones, Tech. Sgt. Keith Cole, Airman Andy Galatas, Staff Sgt. Derrick Lawrence and Senior Airman Kristoffer Ford — all with the 1st Special Operations Wing — were on their way to a charity event when they were arrested by Alabama State Troopers. They were charged with reckless endangerment and released on $1,000 bond after troopers had to shut down an interstate to stop the speeding bikers.

Tech. Sgt. Tyrice Thomas of the 53rd Wing and Tech. Sgt. Paul Johnson of the 33rd Fighter Wing, both at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., were also part of the pack. Spokesmen from the 53rd and 33rd did not immediately return calls for comment.

All seven are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 28 in Baldwin County, Ala.
