Help request. Congressional Candidate going for VFW PAC endoresment
I work for TOo Wyka who is running in NJ-11 against Congressman Frelinghuysen, DAV gives Rodney the worst score in the NJ Caucus.

So we're going for the VFW endorsement. And that means Tom will have put together a position paper. What are the big Vets issues?

I am assuming that Mandatory and Full finding of the VA is the big one. WIth Bush planning to outsource the new GI BIll that that becomes a big issue too.

One of the management companies seeking to take over the administration of the new GI benefits is California based QTC.There seems to be some cronyism going on here. The present Secretary of the VA, James B. Peake, is a former executive with QTC, and the present CEO of QTC, was the former Secretary of the VA, Anthony Principi. This is the same company that contracted with the VA to conduct compensation and pension exams After an audit by the IG for the VA it was discovered that QTC overcharged the VA by six million dollars.

What am I missing?

1. Ask him to speak out against the VA not allowing voter reg!
Here's one of several BRAD BLOG articles about it: Exclusive: Dept. Of Veterans Affairs Continues To Violate Law, Block Voter Registration Drives for Wounded Warriors.

Roger, would you also ask him to go to Standing For Voters and see if he'd be willing to sign the pledge to use his candidacy to further the cause of election integrity?

Thank you!

4. It wasn't 2am on my side of the (gag) homeland
Do you think he'd be willing to sign the Standing For Voters pledge? Where is he on election integrity? I know that issue matters to you.

3. Veterans care is woefully underfunded and veterans rights are mostly ignored.
I won't go thru the litany, but I think the entire Veterans Administration needs to be taken to the woodshed. You should be able to get some platform ideas for his campaign at --> http://www.vawatchdog.org/ .

6. If a candidate doesn't know by now what issues are important to veterans, IMO anything said now
is worthless.
