Helo squadron to stand up at Cherry Point

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. — The second of two new helicopter squadrons will be activated this week at the Marine Corps air station here.

Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 467 will stand up Thursday afternoon.

The squadron brings UH-1N Huey transport helicopters and AH-1W Cobra attack helicopters to Cherry Point for the first time in the air station’s history.

Last month, the Marines reactivated Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366, which has CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters.
