The family of an Ohio Marine killed Sunday in Iraq has identified her to local media outlets.

Lance Cpl. Stacy Ann Dryden, 22, died in a non-combat-related incident at Al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq, Midge King, a family spokeswoman, told the Akron Beacon Journal.

The Defense Department had not confirmed Dryden’s death as of Thursday afternoon.

The military notified family members Sunday, but King, Dryden’s cousin, told the Beacon Journal that the family is “not sure yet” how she died.

Dryden, who lived in Canton’s Plain Township, had been in Iraq for less than two months, the paper reported. She enlisted in 2007.
