About 400 military and other overseas voters who are registered in Okaloosa County, Fla., now can vote at electronic kiosks in Mildenhall, England and Ramstein, Germany in a pilot project.
The kiosks opened Friday, said Carol Paquette, project manager for the Okaloosa Distance Balloting Pilot Project.
She said she received word that the first voter had voted in Mildenhall and all went well.
A kiosk is planned for Japan, but officials are still working out some details, she said.
The Mildenhall electronic voting kiosk is at the Riverside Hotel on 17 Mill Street; the Ramstein kiosk is at the Ramsteiner Hof hotel. They will be open through Nov. 2.
