COLUMBIA, S.C. — Officials at Fort Jackson say they’ve found no connections in the deaths of three soldiers during training in the past two months.
The three soldiers between the ages of 19 and 21 died in a one-month period in September and October. The soldiers were under the supervision of different drill sergeants in separate units.
The State newspaper reported Tuesday that two of the three died of natural causes
and the third appears to have died of natural causes, although the cause of death has not been determined.Fort Jackson spokesman Pat Jones says officials have not found any cause of death from the way the Army’s largest training base operates.
Pvt. Dominique Gibson-Brooks collapsed in the barracks while preparing for a march. Pvt. Derryl Britt and Pvt. Andrea Rosser died after being stricken while running.
