Board to select officers for medical training

A selection board will convene in early May to consider qualified Medical Service Corps majors, captains and promotable lieutenants for participation in Long Term Health Education and Training programs during 2010.

The menu of professional development opportunities includes doctoral, master’s and baccalaureate degree-producing programs, as well as fellowships, internships, training with industry and residencies.

Active-duty service obligations vary from one program to another, with ADSOs for academic programs being three times the length of training, not to exceed six years.

The programs are restricted to officers of the active component.
