2 Sailors Charged With Attacking Prostitutes

SAN DIEGO — Two sailors are facing attempted murder charges in Mexico after they were arrested by authorities in Tijuana early Thursday over alleged attacks on two prostitutes and an employee at a hotel.

Navy Region Southwest officials identified the two sailors as Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Joshua Dockery, 27, and Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Jarrett C. Monzingo, 22.

Monzingo, of Cabool, Mo., is assigned to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 30, based at North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado, according to region spokesman Brian O’Rourke.

Dockery, of Runnemede, N.J., is assigned to Naval Special Warfare Command at Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, Calif., where he recently attended the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL course.

Municipal police said that one of the prostitutes was choked and the other was stabbed, and the hotel employee also was stabbed, the San Diego Union-Tribune stated in a report posted on the newspaper’s Web site Friday night.
