Veteran legs amputated when tank pinned her
Edited on Thu Feb-22-07 08:20 PM by benddem
isn't getting benefits? Can these jackasses get anymore disgraceful?

From Netzoo "2min 50sec interview I conducted with Pam Richardson at the Barack Obama 2008 rally yesterday in Los Angeles."

Richardson was one of several people I casually interviewed before the actual rally began — you can see my best of video here. Her story is unique because — despite being a 19-year U.S. Army veteran — she is not receiving full benefits. Why? Because, even though she lost her leg in Iraq, according to her story, the U.S. government has ruled it an accident and not a combat injury. She says she lost her leg when a tanker fell onto her tent.

On edit she had 19 years service. Some LA DAV members need to get on this.

1. Ok lets get the facts out about DOD is doing
This is a combat related Injury. But DOD is keeping the number of wounded down by doing a reverse Body Count type deal. Here is a example Your in the front Humvee IED take you out Combat related now your in the Humvee right behind it you get hurt not combat related. They have been doing this now for about three years. They claim over 20,000 wounded in combat the real number is about 45,000. Now you know some of the facts we are still looking into it.

2. Bu$hCo deserves
to be impeached, indicted, tried and put in prison for life.
Rectifying their crimes is going to be difficult but needs to be done.

4. That bygeezuz is just F(*&KING wrong.
Pelosi needs to hold a "state of our veterans" and invite these folks to present themselves and their stories to the House meeting in special session.

5. Amy Goodman had a very similar story on Dem. Now this morning.
Hers was on combat veterans who were nervous wrecks and unable to work after leaving the VA hospital (TN Nat. Guard in particular) whom the DOD adjudged 30% disabled even though he was in the state hospital in Knoxville for 3 months of treatment, and then the DOD wanted to try him for missing movement when he had voluntarily commited himself, as the VA hospital gave him no treatment. The VA's rationale: "he might get better after all the trauma gets out of his system."

Amy was as livid as she gets. She just gets loud, usually and talks over the guests when they say stupid things.

The SS system does the same thing, denying SSDI claims by making them stretch out for years thru appeal after appeal until the claimant can prove they are about to die or else hobbling in drooling or else recovered! It is a sham. The Republican appointed administrative law judges assume that if one can hobble out of bed, then they can be a WalMart greeter.

This lot has no respect for any veteran, or any working person. They serve the investor class and the investor class alone. Our entire legal and legislative system revolves around the investor class's succor and relief, with the bulk of the population being kept in check by manufactured crises, media manipulation, while branishing a Cross in one hand and wrapping oneself in the flag. Legislators are C grade actors, by and large. The administration is a farce.

When one considers how the country treated veterans prior to Vietnam, the entire system is rife with shame . . . that is, had they any sense of shame. This vet says FUGWB and your VA, too.
