Campbell soldier died after falling from bed

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A Fort Campbell soldier who died in a Western Kentucky University dorm room fell out of a bed and hit his head on a floor, the coroner said.

Pvt. Lank Graves, 20, of Glasgow, was pronounced dead Sunday morning in Barnes-Campbell Hall. Warren County Coroner Kevin Kirby said Graves rolled off a bed and struck his head on the floor.

Kirby said he expects a preliminary autopsy report by Tuesday.

He said he hasn’t ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in Graves’ death, pending a toxicology report.

Graves was visiting a friend for the weekend, Kirby said.

The two returned to the dorm around 6 a.m. CST Sunday, Deputy Coroner Dwayne Lawrence said. Emergency officials were called just after noon.
