Navy psychologists can get up to $60K bonus

Psychologists with between three and eight years of Navy service can pocket $60,000 if they agree to extend their service obligation by four years, according to an announcement released Friday by Navy Personnel Command.

Psychologists, who are members of the Medical Service Corps, have completed graduate studies in psychology that enable them to counsel patients but not prescribe medicines.

Psychologists who sign up for a four-year extension will be paid in yearly $15,000 installments. NavAdmin 320/07 notes that officers who complete an extension under the bonus may be eligible for another four-year extension bonus.
