The Army Reserve fell short of its recruiting goal for November, making it two misses in a row for the component this fiscal year, according to information released Monday.The active Army and Army National Guard exceeded their monthly missions, making it two consecutive successful recruiting months for both components and a healthy start to the new recruiting year.
The fiscal year began Oct. 1, and monthly recruiting numbers are released on the 10th of each following month.
Reserve recruiters brought in 2,068 soldiers, 3 percent short of their goal of 2,125, according to information from Recruiting Command. The component now is at 91 percent of its year-to-date goal of 4,350. The Reserve’s goal for the year is 26,500 new soldiers.
Information released by the Defense Department shows the active Army recruited 4,783 soldiers, 101 percent of the goal of 4,750. The Army has achieved 101 percent of its year-to-date goal of 9,250. The annual goal is 80,000.
