Maimed in Iraq, then mistreated, neglected, and hidden in America
Our wounded GI's aren't getting quality care, nor even care, in some cases.

1. I am too scared to close my eyes

http://www.bushflash.com/year.html
Enveloped in a sentiment,
a sound that rushes over me.
Engage an impulse to pretend
I have a faith as pure.
Not forgetting what it means to dream.
Indulging everything.
Entertaining thoughts that I've the strength
of those I yearn to be.
Cheers and tribute greet the saviours.
Reckless thoughts survive.
Anachronistic and impulsive.

And what will happen?
Will I dream?
I am too scared to close my eyes.
For a second please hold me.
None can change in me these things that I believe.
But I don't know what happens now.
I am too scared to close my eyes.

2. WAR what is it good for?

One of the things that has troubled me about this is the case of the quadraplegic who was not given a Purple Heart.
As you know, recipients of a Purple Heart no longer have to pay for medical care thanks to the the Veterans Millennium Health Care and Benefits Act.

However,
since the conservatives in the White House are of the compassionate persuasion,
they have seen fit to deny Purple Heart awards to the majority of the wounded.
It is a chickenhawk thing, most people will not understand it.

3. thanks
I just got back from Iraq. I made it through the war unscathed, but I don't know if I will have to go back or not. Believe me, I don't want to go. Bush likes to talk about how he loves the military, but just look at that picture to see how much he really loves them.
