Ex-rep for Corpus Christi Depot took bribes

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A former contracting officer representative for the Corpus Christi Army Depot faces up to 15 years in federal prison for taking bribes.

Prosecutors on Friday announced the plea by 56-year-old Jack Edward Griffin.

Griffin admitted accepting money and other gifts in exchange for assigning jobs to certain contractors and approving shoddy or incomplete work.

Details on those contractors were not immediately disclosed by the U.S. attorney’s office.

Griffin also faces a fine of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised release when he is sentenced March 20.
