CRESAPTOWN, Md. — An Army Reserve unit connected to the mistreatment of prisoners at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison won’t be relocated from Cresaptown as was previously announced.

The Army said last February that the 372nd Military Police Company would be moved to another part of the country under a realignment plan. However, the plan has changed. Jack Gordon, a spokesman for the 99th Regional Readiness Command, said the 372nd will remain in its current location for the foreseeable future.

Seven members of the 372nd were convicted of crimes in the prisoner abuse scandal.
