1. wow this is great and he's not even running
what does that say....a bunch of america is hoping for him like us....I am being optimistic and already clearing my schedule starting in Oct, I made a promise to myself if Al is willing to do this again, i will work night and day to make sure he makes it this time.

We all owe him that....I wish I was more up on politics the first time he ran, I voted for him but didn't even really know who he was or care...it took Bush screwing with us to wake me up.

I have a feeling Gore's people won't be just sort of helping him, but on fire helping him!!!

You said: "I wish I was more up on politics the first time he ran, I voted for him but didn't even really know who he was or care...it took Bush screwing with us to wake me up."

I could have written that sentence. Someone oughta do a poll on how many people have become politically active or at least more politically aware since 2000. I would bet millions have.

3. I was aware before
but I didn't become active until after the 2004 election. I think the Toobz have really helped. Without the Internets, I doubt as many people would have become as active as they have been. I know when I found DU on November 9,2004, my life changed.

6. I found DU spring 2004
through michael moore's website. We have always liked him and Bill Maher and it was after 9-11 when ABC fired Bill that we realized how strong Bushies were and how screwed up the country had got.

I always voted and the most activist I got was when my kids were in grade school we went with a bunch of people to the capital in sacramento to protest something that was happening with the schools. It was fun holding up signs with my kids.

From then till 2004 I didn't get involved though. I started in 2002 reading Richard Clarke's book and it opened my eyes to how they screwed up they were and what was happening in the middle east.

I was busy working fulltime back then. Now I am semi-retired in the WA mountains and have time to fight for my kids and grandkids.

7. I read Clarke's book, too, but I don't think it was until 2004
or 2005. It blew me away and made me so angry.

I thought you were a lot younger than it sounds like you are. It's so funny how we get a picture of people here in our minds and then find something out that totally turns it around!

:hi:

5. There was a poll at DailyKos the other day
And lots of people currently supporting other candidates indicate that they will jump ship once Gore announces.
