1. after reading the articles that came out today
I am wondering why if he doesn't want to run he wouldn't say so...he knows how many of us are on the edge waiting for him to say. I can't believe he is the type of person to knowingly upset so many people.

He said he has talked to some of the candidates, wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall and hear what they said??

the media was the one thing I was worried about if he ran again, would they smear him again, having this article about them talking about it sure makes me wonder.

2. Maybe that's why they are talking about it now
to test the waters out there and see if the nasty media piranhas are biting still. I am hoping that this will de-fang them and be a bit of a preventative when he does announce.

3. I hope your right
the last time he was on Larry King you could tell he was determined to be in control instead of letting the media control him on his timetable to do or not do something. I am sure he wants to tell us but how can he and not stay with his own timetable??

4. This article actually is making me feel less confident he'll run
I don't know why, but I'm starting to lose hope. I just need to get through the next six weeks -- if he doesn't announce by then, it's over, as far as I'm concerned.

6. It's crunch time
Either he will declare soon or he won't. If he doesn't I don't think I'll have enough heart left to care any more. I'm thinking about becoming an alcoholic or a drug addict so I really won't care.

As for the article, I'm just so glad that the liars have been named and some of the evidence has been presented in a well-known national magazine. I haven't given up hope and I won't until the deadline for entry into the primaries has past.

7. I think this was necessary to do prior to announcing
The named media types will be questioned publically and by their peers privately. Don't think they won't feel like the asses they are.

Public de-fanging is what this was. He is so damn smart I can't stand it.

AND, if he doesn't announce, I will join you in the drinking.

:toast:

9. Mojitos all around!
I just didn't like the part where he repeats that he's not planning to run, blah, blah, blah. The language hasn't changed and I'm getting so frustrated. I don't know what I'm going to do if he doesn't run -- I may have to close my eyes and vote for whoever my black marker lands on (Democratic ballot, of course). I seriously don't have a strong second choice -- just a few I've absolutely ruled out.

11. its the part about him maybe choosing someone else
that scares me...I feel just like you do sharon...just want the next 6 weeks over...I don't think I could handle anymore and I meant what I said before he is the only one I will work night and day for, the others I will just vote dem...

12. I know
but then again, I look at the end of the Harvard interview.

Before we finish, Vice President Gore, I have to ask one more time: You’re completely ruling out a run for president?

I have not completely ruled out the possibility of reentering politics as a candidate at some point in the future. I doubt that will ever happen. But just as it doesn’t feel right to be a candidate at this point, it doesn’t feel right to make a so-called Sherman statement.

This last statement appears to be made by someone who is thinking about it. Otherwise, he would come right out and make the Sherman statement, just as he did before the 2004 election. Now he's saying he hasn't completely ruled out reentering politics.

Now, for something completely different, that ties it all together: Tweety said something half-way useful/interesting yesterday when he opined (and this is paraphrasing): whenever a politician says something in a manner that an ordinary person wouldn't, there's something going on. Tweety was talking about Craig's use of the word "intend" as in Craig "intends to resign". Tweety said that Craig left the door open by not completely closing it. The same can be said for Gore. He has not shut the door and he hasn't ruled it out.

I refuse to give up the dream until Gore definitively says "no".

That was a welcome surprise. Not sure if I can swing a trip into the Iowa interior but I am willing to let the universe surprise me with making it possible.

16. Not sure what that is -
but there is a possible Draft Gore event in late September or October in the Des Moines area. Depends on my vehicle and if the stars align properly.

I wanted an exciting and dynamic life full of adventure. Now, that I'm older I'm looking forward to a time when it is peaceful and low stress and somewhat predictable. I guess the lesson is: be careful what you ask for. ;)
