Halloween outfits 'create fear'
Retailers who sell traditional Halloween merchandise, such as scary masks, are creating a "climate of fear", the Bishop of Bolton has said.

He said they are focussing on the darker side of Halloween.

Mr Gillett suggested shops stock hair braids, bright balloons and colourful costumes alongside traditional items.

1. That's too bad. I enjoy a little bit of
the fright in Halloween. I don't want anything ghoulish or terrifying or violent, but a little fright stimulates the imagination, I think, and revs up the body and the neurological system. I think it makes up think of the possibilities!

2. Bright balloons?
I don't know what those have to do with halloween.

Don't get me wrong, choice isn't a bad thing, but if those items would sell then retailers would have been stocking them already.

In the end, I think that people *want* to celebrate the darker aspects of Halloween. Those aspects are what separate Halloween from other holidays--like Easter of Christmas.
