Is "Medium's" Psychic the Real Deal?
This is a TV guide story listed here Is Medium's Psychic the Real Deal?.

clip: Not everyone is as convinced. Paul Kurtz, chairman of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, says, "It's a shame that the American public has to be exposed to such barnyard nonsense without hearing skeptical criticisms from the scientific community."

Which leads to my favorite paragraph! For Schwartz, though, seeing is believing. "Anyone who's looked closely at the evidence can't help but come to the conclusion that there is something very real going on here," he says. DuBois is a little more direct. "I know that when we die, we're still there, so I don't have anything to lose. When die, all of a sudden they'll look around and go, 'Oops!'" Heehee!

1. I never saw the show and don't know anything about that psychic
but I do know that if a psychic contacted Blackbeard's spirit, got specific instructions to find the lost treasure, then found the lost treasure using the instructions, and then repeated the same process 1000 times for other lost artifacts, missing wills and letters, lost treasures, or anything else, CSICOP (or however they abbreviate it) would say with absolute certainty that it was all either coincidence or fraud. They hold a religious belief as unshakeable as any fundamentalist's, and no amount or kind of evidence could make their belief falsifiable to them.
