Evangelists to hand out tracts instead of candy.
Plus you can win an ipod if they seek out Jesus!

Contact: Donna Skell, American Tract Society spokesperson, 214-597-9327 cell

DALLAS, Texas, Oct. 7 /Christian Wire Service/ -- In what is being called an aggressive evangelistic campaign, the American Tract Society is equipping evangelists of all ages to Light Up The Night with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ on the streets, at the doors, and in the fall festivals at Halloween and throughout the fall season!

"We want to use every opportunity to help people examine for themselves the truths of the gospel in the Bible. Fall Festivals and Halloween Evangelism can help mobilize Christians to provide messages of hope and encouragement with our tracts." said Dan Southern, President of ATS.

ATS Spokesperson, Donna Skell stated, "ATS is providing tracts, candy, toys (i.e. glow in the dark wrist bands), as well as free internet games and resources to be read and enjoyed by recipients of the tracts. And we are giving away relevant resources for churches and individuals if they go to our website, www.light-up-the-night.org and download them for their own use. Kids can win an Apple iPod Shuffle in one of the online contests we're having, too."

6. "Let them eat tracts"
"ATS developed resources within hours for the bewildered and frustrated evacuees of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Over 500,000 tracts were delivered throughout the hurricane damaged Gulf States by churches, relief workers and individuals."

Imagine, as thousands of trapped people, desperate for food, water and shelter, were begging for help, who showed up? FEMA? no. The National Guard? no. President By Golly Bush? no. It was the "Tract People"!!

"Here folks, read of Jesus's love and compassion. Water? Only enough for us, sorry. Here, have a nice tract."

And now they're back!

"Oh John, look at these cute monsters and goblins! Here kids, have some tracts to read when you get home tonight. What? Uh, no we don't have any candy, it detracts from God's message.... John! Did you hear what those little brats called us?! They'll be sorry when they're burning in eternal Hell!"

As Halloween approaches, let us all bow our heads in an agonized effort to keep from howling in laughter at the thought of thousands of pissed off kids finding tracts in the goody bags instead of Milk Duds.

Yeah, that's going to win their hearts.
