What's the weirdest religion you know about?
Every Sunday, I post "Today's Sermon" in my blog (click under the burning bush and search the site for Today's Sermon), and I showcase the weirdest religion I can find by googling "weird religions" or "funny religions."

The last truly hilarious "religion" I found was:

The First Church of
Jesus Christ, Elvis

If you have any great links to weird world religions, please post them.

7. You beat me to it.
They have got to be the oddest. There was also one that I think fell apart, the Unarians, where the believers claim to have come from outer space. They all dressed up in outfits reminiscent of the old Flash Gordon serials and b-movie space operas of fifty years ago.

4. All of them.
What is more bizarre than believing in something that is a human-made construct and doesn't exist?

6. There's one where they eat their prophet and drink his blood
What did they call that again? Ah, the ruling religion, the True faith.

9. Christianity is hard to top
it has ritualized cannibalism

a mono-deity with mulitple personality disorder

it is a suicide cult

it has adopted bizaare rituals and celebrations from countless pagan cultures

it has sexual hangups that have fueled amazing sex practices and have commoditized sex in its culture
