Poor, poor Pat Boone!
Well, guess what? Right here, in the land of the free and the home of the brave – the nation that was founded by Christians, on Christian principles, with the expressed intent to secure freedom of worship for all – people who are still willing to be identified as Christians are becoming the new lepers!

As I read the papers, watch and listen to the news, and read the constant stream of newsletters from conservative groups fighting to preserve the liberties we've always taken for granted, I can hardly believe what's happening in what has always been referred to as "a Christian nation."

Though we Christians are still an undeniable majority, we have been undercut, seduced, litigated, misrepresented and increasingly overpowered by ultra "liberal," secular and outright seditious special-interest groups. Without our seeming to be aware, our schools – and through them, our children – have been largely removed from our influence toward traditional faith by powerful organizations, the ACLU and the NEA, the teachers' union, leading the way. For reasons that are unmistakably obvious, all mentions or references to God are being prohibited, and any innocent expressions of Christianity by even grade-school kids forbidden.

2. "undeniable majority"?
Well, if that were so, then they should have no problem winning elections; but they lost in a landslide and still think they are the majority?? They have never been a majority, it is just sold that way on the M$M and by those silly "think tanks".

Why do they think they are under attack? No one is trying to revoke their right to worship as they choose, all the while they are trying to keep other people down and from having equal rights and fair treatment.

ANYTIME they say anything, the opposite is always true. Xtians and their 'woes' are a complete fabrication in order to gain sympathy. No one is going after their rights or being invasive upon their lives, they on the other hand are intrusive upon others lives and want to control every aspect of them.

3. Thanks for the laugh (on many levels)
...Christians are becoming the new lepers!

You KNOW what immediately jumped into my alleged mind when I read that...

BRIAN: Who cured you?

EX-LEPER: Jesus did, sir. I was hopping along, minding my own business. All of a sudden, up he comes. Cures me.

One minute I'm a leper with a trade, next minute my livelihood's gone. Not so much as a by your leave. 'You're cured mate.'

Bloody do-gooder.

4. The NEA?
WTF? My parents were members of the NEA and...wait for it...Christians. In fact, most k-12 teachers I know are believers of some sort or another. None of them want to talk about Jeebus in school. They want to teach science and history and math and art and you're a dumbass Pat.

5. At least you didn't post the Leather Pat pic.
That one always makes me want to tear my eyes out. And now that I've mentioned it, I just know some smartass is going to post the damn thing.

Background, for those who don't know about it, and Pat hopes you won't find out: back in the 1990's, Pat cut an album called "In A Metal Mood." It was him assassinating some metal songs with his usual soporific whitebread schtick. He said, much later, he only did it as a joke. It certainly sounded like one, on the same entertainment level as William Shatner barking "Mr. Tambourine Man."

For the album cover, Pat wore fake tats, leather and a dog collar.

Unfortunately, Pat forgot the First Commandment of dealing with his Fundie fan base: Thou shalt not do irony. We don't GET irony.

After a perfect shit-storm of outraged complaints to Fundie radio stations across the USA, Pat backed down and shamelessly groveled,
profusely apologzing to the Fundies and promising to never do anything like that again.

6. It didn't help
that his get up wasn't so much metal as it was rent-a-boy. Nothing makes the Jesusly Insane scream and take a wire brush to their eyes faster than a butch homosexual.

A joke. Sure, Pat. The dude got stupid rich neutering black music, probably thought he could capture lightning twice. Anything for a buck (Acne-statin, anyone? From a family that hasn't had a pimple in generations?).

Funny, I've been waiting for years for some fundie nutbag to say something about Pat's Dick in a Box photo. Guess letting his mushcap hang out isn't nearly the sin as acting the toon metalhead.

Apropos of nothing, here's Paul Anka doing Smells Like Teen Spirit. Click at your own peril:
