need help with book search
i have posted a few times regarding my MIL and her antics trying to indoctrinate my children into xianity behind mine and my wife's backs.

i was wondering if there were any books out there on how to raise children to be free thinkers.

so far i've found this:

http://www.parentingbeyondbelief.com/

two books: Parenting Beyond Belief and Raising Freethinkers

if anybody has any other suggestions please let me know.
thank you in advance!

1. Here is one I found at the American Atheists Web site.
Living In The Light
$12.00
By Anne Stone

This is a straight-forward practical manual for rearing Atheist children. Ms. Stone provides a very handy classification of children's personality types and discusses the specific ways in which each type of child will be vulnerable to the blandishments of religion and supernaturalism. Best of all, she gives advice on how to provide rational substitutes that can provide prophylaxis against each type of mystinfection. No Atheist parent will want to miss this book!

Even if you don't have children of your own, however, if there are children for whose welfare you are concerned, you need this book. If children are to become healthy adults, they must learn the skills of reality-testing without losing the creative sense of wonder and imagination that is the glory of children everywhere. Often, however, the fantasy life of children becomes the religious "reality" of the young adult, and young people fall prey to cults and other harmful forms of religion.

Anne Stone is quite passionate about the importance of her book. "For the first time in history," she writes, "it has become more than a pacifier for parents to teach their children religion: it has become a death warrant. This is because technology has finally gotten to the point where death might be eradicated; but religious beliefs that emphasize the importance of a life after death impede efforts to preserve and extend life before death."

4. thank you!!
that's actually something my wife and i have been discussing:

not wanting to stall imagination and creativity (pretending, fantasy, etc.) and at the same time make sure they have a bullshit-o-meter so they know when someone is trying to suck them in with religious mysticism.

again, thank you!!
