God is proven scientifically!
This is the claim by a cook at work.

He insists that science has proven the existence of god because of frequencies within all things, including rocks.

I shook my head and walked away from him when he started trying to engage me in the debate.

4. Dinesh D'Doucha makes that claim.
Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 09:51 PM by onager
I heard him recently on the local Corporate-Xian radio station, pimping his new book about the afterlife.

See if you can follow this logic, because this is what he said, as I remember:

a) Science has not proven or disproven that an afterlife exists, and stubbornly refuses to investigate the claim. At least to the satisfaction of believers.

b) Fortunately, the afterlife is not really a scientific question. It's a theological question.

c) Since science has nothing to say about theology, that makes Xians the experts in that area. So if Xians claim an afterlife exists, then it does!

Pretty neat, eh?

But less than 5 minutes later, he tried to drag science into this stupidity by citing Near-Death-Experiences as scientific proof of an afterlife. Though he failed to mention the U.S. Air Force studies showing that test subjects in high-G experiments reported all the effects of an NDE.

And somewhere in there, he Went Quantum and claimed that physicists have proved the existence of God, but refuse to admit it because most of them are non-believers. Or something like that.

5. Dinesh uses all the apologist tricks.
He accepts every "proof" of god. I saw him (video) strut his stuff against Hitchins.

I am at once appalled and fascinated by apologists. I'm always wondering if they are quacks or charlatans, i.e., Dinesh is smart enough to know bullshit, so does he know he's full of it?
