Merry Christmas...
....all of you arrogant, vile, grouchy, stupid, ignorant, mean, subversive, hell-bound, Satanic, evil, Nazi, overbearing, cultish, know-it-all, demonic, hateful, rude, pedantic (had to look that one up), nihilistic (that one, too), narcissistic (I knew what that one meant), depressing, soul-sucking, psychic warfare inducing, unlovable, miserable, tainted, hopeless, selfish, nasty, hateful, sinful, black magic practitioning, foolish, condom wearing, pre-marital sex having, science worshiping, drug addicted, vomit inducing, perverted, Santa-hating buttholes.

And I didn't even use any cuss words and the truly vile stuff that I won't allow to be typed on my keyboard. I haven't seen all of those on the internet in reference to non-believers, but I've seen enough of them to know that they are all implied if not stated.

In other news, I had never intended on posting in the R/T forum, but I kind of got co-opted when a religion thread in GD that I had been posting in got moved to the R/T forum. However, my lawyer tells me that my R/T virginity is still intact since I haven't actually made a post in a thread while it was in the R/T forum. I'm still pure. O8)

Anyway, I still celebrate Christmas with my folks every year. For us it's all about having a good time with relatives and enjoying a few days off work. I can dig that. I hope you all are doing well. Peace.

1. I have no problem saying Merry Christmas.
It's like telling people to have a nice weekend.

As for R/T -- your "reputation" is intact.

2. Thanks, Tobin!
Xmas is my favorite holiday.

It's pretty mandatory to celebrate it!

I love giving and receiving gifts, and being
reminded of the basic goodness of humankind.

Cheers!

6. "Basic goodness" Sputter...Go choke on a fruitcake!
I'm just practicing at being one of those vile, arrogant, assholish atheists I keep hearing so much about. I'll get the hang of it soon...

:hi:

3. Xmass is bloody lame and I stopped recognizing it several years ago..
To me, to acknowledge this holiday is to acknowledge religion and all of its dumbfuckery.

4. I don't think so
With over 2 billion people on the planet being Christians it's not going away any time soon, whether you acknowledge it or not. But some people, like my family, have taken the religion out of Christmas. It's kind of like an ethnic group co-opting some derogatory slang directed at them and making it their own.

5. It may not be going away anytime soon...
But that does not mean I have to acknowledge it.
