Comrade Atheists, just in time for May Day!
Obviously, I have too much time on my hands...

Anyway...I may link to this video, every time some asshat in R/T uses the "Stalin" meme. One poster over there invokes Stalin EVERY DAMN TIME atheism is mentioned and I'm pretty tired of it:

L'Internationale, performed by a Chinese heavy-metal band (WARNING-10-second ad might play before the vid. Ace Hardware, possibly a capitalist marketing tie-in to hammers and sickles): http://www.metacafe.com/watch/3592422/internationale/

To really freak 'em out, L'Internationale in 47 different languages, including Zulu, Basque and Hebrew: http://www.mixx.com/videos/5041062/youtube_the_internationale_in_47_languages_1_instrumental_version

A traditional propaganda version, in Hungarian with English lyrics onscreen. Though I gotta admit, juxtaposing Martin Luther King with Lenin, Khruschev and Castro sort of pissed me off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suVB3YGIUk0&feature=related

And long as I'm here - here's the OTHER Russian national anthem. Cleverly entitled "The Russian National Anthem," or "Song of the Motherland."

BTW, that dogmatic, inflexible Fundie Atheist Joe Stalin himself arbitrarily changed the Russian national anthem in 1944. Originally the national anthem was - what else? L'Internationale

But in the middle of WWII, Stalin decided it was better for troop morale to invoke the defense of the Motherland. Instead of asking soldiers to die for an abstraction like "the international working class."

This one is also heavy on the propaganda, though the opening lyrics "Unbreakable union of freeborn republics" is kind of ironic nowadays:

2. I like Billy Bragg's update of the lyrics the best
Here's a short clip of him at the G 20 protest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blU0slaziY8&feature=related

It's a little rough, but the one of him in performance wastes half the 5+ minute clip on that old Chinese favorite, Tu Ning.

3. I have always said
it is a great song, much better than SSB. Don't care for the words, but it is musically great.
