An important 4th century addition to Catholic antiquities is discovered:

That this phrase jumped out and smacked me in the head, just before I read "naked youths:"

...gold-rimmed circles against a red-ochre backdrop.

I must go right over to R/T, and get an interpretation of that symbolism from one of the Learned Theologians.
