I read tonight that all things are possible for those who believe...
It feels like they're saying everyone else is SOL. It gets tiresome after a while.

1. Ever notice that those who repeat that mantra are rarely well off financially, emotionally, and...
in relationships? Do are they not believe? Is it possible that the expression only refers to the levels of nonsense that can be believed.

2. Oh, so if I get cancer, I shouldn't get chemo or radiation. I should just pray it away.
Brilliant idea. Really. :eyes:

3. Put that to the test, and it magically becomes...
"Just a metaphor. You don't REALLY believe the Supreme Ruler of the Universe acts like a fairy-tale genie in a lamp, do you? Where did you get such a CHILDISH idea in this age of shiny, happy RATIONAL Xianity?"

Well, maybe I got that idea straight out of the Holey Buy-bull and the words of Jesus H. Darlene Christ Himself. But it sure embarasses the believers when we point that out.

Also, Gandhi. And MLK. Which are irrelevant to this discussion, but are also usually irrelevant to any discussion of religion in which they are invoked over in the R/T forum.
