1. Man. He thinks that he has to chime in on everything. Why does anyone care what he thinks?
And he'd better do something to cover up those scratches!

2. lol
And the fact that I got Orrex's joke about scratches before I watched the video probably means I have to much information about Trek stored in my brain. :)

3. One geek to another!
Who's the bigger geek--the geek who makes the joke or the geek who gets it?

A question for the ages!

6. Well, I saw the trailer sans cameo and it was easy to see why he wouldn't want to be in it.
Even if he wasn't asked; they've bastardized Kirk's character from what is presented.

7. Oh, and a better example of Shatner's commentary:

8. Presented where, exactly?
As far as I can remember, he's from Iowa, and he crossed paths with Carol Marcus a few decades prior to ST:TOS. Also there's that glimpse we get in ST:Generations.

If the reworking of the character is a problem for you, then you might just be out of luck. But if you've got a bone to pick about the portrayal of Kirk's past, then I'd sincerely be interested to learn what you're using as source material.
