NBC has apparently cancelled American Dreams
The network has not made an official announcement yet, nor has Jonathan Prince (the creator and Executive producer) made a statement, but that appears to be the buzz all over Hollywood. Network executives may be some of the most evil human beings on the planet, right up there with the Enron and WorldCom executives. Oh, and I hope all you people who obsessively watch cop shows, "reality shows", hospital shows and courtroom shows are proud of yourselves. You just helped to kill off another quality television program. Thanks! Thanks a lot!

Meanwhile, word is that the fate of NBC's "American Dreams" has now been sealed, and the period drama, long considered a long shot for renewal, will not return next season. NBC declined comment Thursday.

More (about all the stupid shows that have been re-newed to appease the childlike American public)

1. It's a shame that a show you love got cancelled
But I don't think it is fair to lay the blame on those who have different tastes than you do. In fact, I'd lay 100% of the blame where it belongs: with the tv network executives. They don't give quality shows any chance at all. If they don't get instant ratings, they sabotage them. Remember when a show ran a long time in the same slot? Remember when a show wasn't canceled the minute it didn't get top ratings? Those days are gone. Many of the big, quality shows that ran for years started off with poor ratings. But they were't canceled and the schedule wasn't messed with and the public eventually caught on, making them hits.

2. I am getting so sick of reality TV
And those shows are so much cheaper to produce, these corporate buttheads bail when ratings aren't what they want. It has been 4 or 5 years since they killed Promised Land and I am still ticked at CBS. I boycotted their Thursday nites for 1 and 1/2 Survivor seasons...

I am about ready to scream if they add another Law and Order or CSI. I like the originals, but 3 and 4 are way too many.

3. That's very sad. I wonder if Dick Clark's health problems have anything
to do with it? I'll miss that show!

5. Oh, F**k
One of my favorites. I can't believe they're going to let it go. I think it's one of the best of all time. Most reality shows suck. Quality dramas are really getting hurt by them. I think being on opposite Extreme Makeover Home Edition really hurt this past year and moving it opposite "Lost" certainly didn't help any. I wish they'd give it another shot. As much as I like Extreme Makeover, and as heartwarming as it is every week to see how they help people, it does get kind of the same after a while.

7. Aw HELL
 can't say I'm surprised, I would've been shocked if they had renewed it....just HHHHHEEEEEELLLLLL!

To be honest I also watch 'reality' shows, but I still know what quality TV really is. Sometimes I just like to watch mindless trash as a diversion.
