Best Amazing Rance ending EVER!
Uchenna and Joyce. I loved how the other teams were so happy for them and cheering for them.

1. Oh my goodness
I was screaming at the tv.... GET IN THERE! GET IN THERE! But, they had integrity to the end and that is worth way more than $1 million. I agree with you, it was the best AR ending. I'm so happy for them-- I even shed a little tear.

2. How did they get to Miami at the same time as Romber?
I saw Rob and Amber get on the plane and the gates were closed and I thought, "it's over" and I started doing the dishes during the commercial. I didn't bother coming to watch again until Rob and Amber were picking up the clue that led to the King of Havanna place. How'd Uchenna and Joyce get on that plane??

I thought all was lost again when they didn't have enough money to pay for the cab. I had to cover my eyes. I started tearing up when they won.

:bounce: :toast:

3. They let them on the plane at the last minute (yea, AA!)
Edited on Tue May-10-05 11:42 PM by orangepeel68
The gate agent asked the pilot if it was okay, he/she said yes, and they opened the gates and let them on.

There wasn't more of an explanation -- U/J didn't do anything but ask (they didn't try to weasel there way on or claim an emergency or anything).

I don't know why (although I'm really glad they did!). Maybe the airline just wanted to bend over backward because they bought full fare tickets. Maybe they wanted to get the four people (U/J and their camera and sound people) out of the standby line so they'd have more room on later flights. Or maybe AA saw the cameras and were afraid they were filming an expose on customer service in the airline industry!

4. well
obviously it was a conspiracy. :D

AA got in major PR trouble with TAR fans last season. One of their counter people basically lied to Kris and Jon about flight departure times, costing them the race.

I'm waiting for the people who said Rob and Amber were benefitting from conspiracies to explain how this happened. :D :D

5. TERRIFIC ending
it was just WONDERFUL! I was a R & A fan for 90% of the race but Joyce & Uchenna's BIG hearts won me over. :loveya: I was literally screaming at the TV... GO, GO, GO!!!! I'm GLAD it came out the way it did, R & A made a good showing coming in second  and the two repugs came in a distant third  .

6. I felt bad for the taxi driver.....
It's his living. But I wanted to yell, THIS IS A RACE! Come on! Give them a break! I think if I saw people doing the Amazing Race, I'd want to help. Still, I'm quite impressed that people would cough up 10 and 20 dollars to help them out. I hope they get to see themselves on the show! :)

Does anyone know if they are allowed (while begging) to tell people they are in a race? I didn't hear too much of that when they were in the airport.

9. I was wondering that too....
I have heard at many other times, people saying they are in a race, but not saying it is THE Amazing Race. I also wonder if Uchenna HAD to pay the cabbie, or if he was just being a stand-up guy. Perhaps he could have said, "Wait here for me and keep the meter running. I'll be coming back." I remember past episodes with people disputing cab fares, and even one guy threw money at a cabbie, less than the cabbie wanted.

I LOVED the ending!!!! I HATE Rob, and I HATE that they put Romber on the show. Sure, they play a great game, but they do it by lying and weaseling. I'm just the type who still likes to see the nice guys finish first, so I have been rooting against Romber all along.

I was cheering and yelling at the TV when that dock started moving back toward the plane!!!:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

14. two things
You're not allowed to say you're on the Amazing Race, which is why they say "it's a competition" so often.

You have to pay the cabbie. Can't break the law.

I'm glad you found Uchenna and Joyce to be the "nice guys", since they were in an early alliance with the evil Romber, and actually gave them money to bribe the bus driver.

Oh, and lying and weaseling? Have you ever watched the show before? It's been going on since Season 1. As a matter of fact, there have been worse things done than anything Rob and Amber did.

and they said that they aren't allowed to say they are in a race for a
TV show. It sounded like they weren't allowed to say much of anything. (I did notice that Joyce referred to being in a race, however.) Loooks like folks would know something was up given the camera person.

7. Best. Editing. Ever.
Edited on Wed May-11-05 09:21 AM by Patiod
My only editing complaint: they showed so much of Rob bragging that he would win that I knew he didn't. Seriously - showing that if they did win would have just been obnoxious, so I thought that was a dead give-away.

I was horrified by the thought that Ron "it smells like a third world country" and Kelly "I'm a typical woman, I just want to get married" might have been the winners.

Playing along with Uchenna and Joyce was like being on an emotional roller coaster!!! They were the only real hard luck story in all the teams (Enron AND Worldcom?) so of course I was rooting for them from the get-go (although the self-declared "hillbillies" were also a favorite, if only for their one episode).

8. I thought the same thing....
They have to get better about trying to surprise us. As soon as Ray said he wasn't going to let some old man beat him, we knew what would happen. As soon as Rob said to "write the check" we knew it wasn't gonna happen. Yeah, we all like to see a little come-uppance, but please let's not give it away!

the number of times in one episode he said "Ambuh & I" and the number of times she called him baby. :7

12. If I ever went on a reality show with a boyfriend,
I would train myself not to say "baby" before going on the show!LOL! It's so annoying! Everytime one of them calls the other baby, I gag!LOL! Not just this season, but every season, there is at least one couple who says baby baby baby baby.

16. oh great
after reading that I am going to have "Ambuh & I" running through my head all night! I see next week they are going to show those two planning their wedding (they got married last month). That's far too much of those two for me to stand!
