Survivor Official Thread - Episode 8
I like the hidden immunity idol thing. That sounds pretty good. I hope to see someone find it who needs it and can cause a stir at tribal counsel.

I was sad to see Brandon go. He was a good guy and I loved his hat. Again, the evil tribe is winning. I hate when the guys I like get ousted.

I want to see how good Stef is now. I think you all know that I adore Stef (even with her constant bitching). She can control the rest of the game if she is as smart as Boston Rob, and get to the final three. She has the numbers already, if she keeps Rafe and Lydia happy. Here is what I would do if I were Stef (understanding the hidden idol and individual immunity can screw this up. I know these variables will probably prove me very wrong).

I would drop Gary or Bobby John next, probably Bobby John first. After that I would cut Jamie (he is just too much of a pain in the ass). After that, either Judd (he is a wild card and stef can't control him like she can Lydia and Rafe) or whichever of Bobby John/Gary is left, then get the other first chance they did not have immunity. I don't see Judd winning immunity often, so I think it will be Bobby John/Gary then Judd. After that, I would want to go into the final five with stef, rafe, danni, lydia and cindi.

Now it is tough. I would want to drop cindi because she will be tough to beat at jury and I think stef can convince Rafe and Lydia that it is in their best interest to do so. I would also want to drop Danni because she gets two free votes from Bobby John and Gary and may get the people pissed at teammates turning on them like Jamie and Judd. I have a gut feeling Danni wins immunity when she needs to (no spoiler here, just that she looks physically strong, fast and smart).

Anyway, I think Danni controls her fate and if she wins immunity after the guys are gone, she will get to the final four. If Danni wins again and gets to the final three, Stef has to drop Rafe or Lydia, and I would drop Lydia because I think stef could talk to her and keep her vote at the final tribal even if voted off. If this all plays out, the final immunity will decide this game. If Stef wins immunity she takes Danni and wins. If Danni wins she takes Stef and loses. If Rafe wins, I think he beats either one. So I see either Stef or Rafe winning this thing. Of course this is all just a guess, but I want to see if after 10 seasons I am getting any better at predicting this kind of thing.

Anyway, great episode. I loved the food issue. I would have went for the challenge just because it gets me votes at the final tribal. That will come back to haunt Stef or Rafe or Lydia in the end. It was a smart move by Judd and Cindi (who gave the perfect answer at tribal last night). Jamie is asshole and probably ended the game for himself. If he was a little less cocky and just tried to fuck with Bobby John in a friendly tone, he would not have pissed off Stef, Rafe and Judd. That move sealed his fate. I was glad Gary won. I like him and want to see him go further. He is a stand up guy who is good at challenges.

1. I missed it
It was my birthday yesterday and I was too busy answering all the phone calls I got that I didn't see a single minute.

I wish some channel replayed the episode sometime within the following days after it airs. Like CNBC replays each Apprentice (Martha and Trump) show the day after it airs on NBC.

2. I thought last night was much more enjoyable than
last week's, though I was very disappointed in seeing Brandon get the boot. If anyone, Jamie surely deserved it. He's one nasty dude.
I'm rooting for Rafe because he has a lot of class. And Gary? I'm not crazy about him. Time will tell...

3. I'm actually disappointed in Stef after this episode.....
I've always thought of her as sportsman like and gentlemanly. For her to ally with Jamie is a huge turn-off for me. I totally would have got rid of him.

4. From a strategic standpoint
she did the right thing. You have a (presumably) somewhat tight alliance of 6 vs 4. If you boot one of your six, it's now 5-4, and only one person has to flip to put you in the minority.

Strategically, she should take out at least two more in the minority before she starts to take out her own people.

According to Amy's post-game interviews, she and Gary and Steph and (I believe) Rafe were an original alliance before all the switching. If Steph can keep Gary around while booting off the rest of the minority, then flip him back when the number of players is down to 7 (including one person to take Amy's place, probably Lydia or Cindy), she can take out Jamie and Judd. Then turn on Gary and have a presumably clear path to the Final Three.

I will hate it if this happens, because I loved the Brandon/Bobby Jon/Danni/Gary group, but that's the game. If the winner this season exhibits good play, I'll enjoy it, regardless of their personality or my preferences beforehand. (I really wanted Danni to win.)
