Dr. Strangelove and other Survivor fans.....spoilers
I am pleased with some of the changes during this season. Are you? I like the idea that the winning team can send one member to Exile Island. It keeps an alliance from being able to pick people off one by one and makes it much more interesting. I knew when they gave Dan so much face time, his number was up.

I also liked the way they combined the challenge to have both a physical aspect and a mental aspect. They are exhausted and hungry and that can really do things to your mind.

What's the deal with Shane? I can't tell if he wants to stay or if he's trying to get voted off!

1. Shane is a nutcase
He's loony. I didn't like the 'I-hate-leaves' woman the first couple weeks, but she's starting to grow on me. I can't say I have a favorite yet, someone I am rooting for. I usually don't find one until the merge. And I usually can't remember names until then either -- I am just really bad with names :silly:

2. I love the "island" effect
I like the effect on alliances, and that last episode showed the power of smart play.

As for Shane, he might win this thing. IF he keeps acting like an asshole, he will be the one that everyone wants to take to the final two. I think Aras, Shane, Courtney, Danielle, Cirie and Bruce will control the game. The only way Terry, Austin or Nick can do well is to win immunity all the way ala Colby in season 2 or Kelly in season 1 (though they both lost in the finals). If Sally is smart she will jump ship and try to get in with the girls again. My prediction for the rest of the season: merge next week, then pick off Terry, Nick and Austin (in that order if you can, but as soon as possible when they don't have immunity) then let the fun shake out.

3. Remember though...
Terry found the immunity idol.

4. True
but it can't work twice. I would probably oust Terry only when I have a two vote lead, so if one of the majority goes after Terry's idol is presented, Terry goes the next time he does nto have immunity becasue we would still have the numbers.

5. Who do you think
was injured? That will alter the alliances.

6. BTW -- whatever happened to Lazarus?
Always full of Survivor statistics and knowledge of the game. He seems to have disappeared. Maybe he's on this season of Survivor..... heheheheh!

7. I'm not sure
I was wondering the same thing myself-- I haven't seen him around lately.

8. Me either. It would be cool though
if someone from DU was on Survivor.

I can't do it. Love coffee too much!

9. Coffee...
Now that's a good reason to not do Survivor. I would be acting like Shane without his cigarette fix if I didn't have my morning dose of Jamaican coffee. But it would be cool to see someone from DU on Survivor, I read in the Lounge the other day that someone was going to be on Jeopardy.

10. Lazarus stays out of spoiler discussions
He likes to avoid this forum because so many people drop hints and discuss spoilers. I heard from him before the season started and he was doign well. I suspect he will join us from time to time, just not during any discussion of spoilers.

11. Report from Laz
He has had some personal problems recently. A close family member fell ill with cancer, a type with an uncomfortably high mortality rate. He also encountered some minor health problems of his own, nothing fatal, but still personally alarming. If you are the type to pray, lets pray for his ill family member and his family. If not, send whatever good vibes and karma his way that you can.

12. Sending good vibes to Lazarus
That's too bad. I hope his relative and he both get well quickly. Last week I found out my 90+ year old grandma has breast cancer and it is a 9 in terms of aggressiveness (on a scale of 1 to 9). She is having surgery Wednesday -- probably as I type this. I hope everything goes well. Even while living in the US I only saw her about once a year and now living overseas I can't exactly hop in my car and go visit her now.

13. I'll add her to my list
of people who need a little extra lift right now. Hoping she does well. How are you? I was glad your turtle made it into the country with you. How is South Korea? Are you enjoying this season of survivor. I find the characters annoying. I love the exhile island change. It shakes up the game. Once Terry gets the votes and he shows them that idol, it will be really fun.

14. Thanks
I'm doing well although I've managed to catch two colds in the 5 or 6 weeks that I've been here. It's kept me from going out and doing a whole lot. South Korea's weather has been all over the place -- bone-chillingly cold and windy one day, 60 degrees and beautiful the next. I'm still waiting for my belongings to get here, not that I packed a whole lot. The army said 4 weeks, now it looks like it will be another 4 weeks. I have all the necessities here but I am getting sick of the same clothes. Plus, my husband and I are sharing a monitor between two computers and I miss my printer and scanner (I mailed my computer tower -- that wasn't replaceable so we packed it very well and insured it. The army shipped his computer when he moved last spring and it was damaged beyond repair).

Survivor -- I also think this season's characters are annoying. From the descriptions I thought I would root for Misty but that didn't last long. Now, probably Bruce. He seems older and wiser one minute, the next he's a complete dingbat. Terry automatically annoyed me from day one -- he's military and I'm not a huge fan of the military, I hear about it and am around it every day.

Have you been watching The Amazing Race? There are some teams I find hilarious and some teams I love to hate. I think it's a great season so far.

How's the baby? I won't ask if she is crawling yet... I asked my sister that after a couple months and she had a good laugh. Apparently they don't crawl until 6 months or so. I had no idea! :P

15. Baby news and stuff
I've been so scared about catching a cold with teh baby in the house. I wash my hands 20 times a day and avoid contact with anyone who sneezes. Sorry you've been sick. Once yuo are over your colds, you gotta tell us all about South Korea. I hope there are more 60+ degree days in your near future.

Trust the army to delay getting your stuff to you. I was an army brat for awhile. Dad left active duty and went into the reserves when I was only5 or 6, but I do recall the army messing up often enough to make me mom freak out.

I like Bruce, but he is not very good at the game. He seems to enjoy the solitude, but goign off by yourself makes you a target. Terry reminds me of my dad, very authoritarian, but a good person under that tough guy image. I understand your feelings about the military though. I've not gotten into TAR. WIth the baby, just not enough time to watch much TV and enjoy time with her when I get home from work. Its tough, my wife gets to spend all day with her, but I gt home about 7:30. I try to scarf down food and feed her a bottle at 8:00. then she is only up for an hour or so. So I try to read ot her or sing with her or just hold noisy toys in front of her. I love getting her to smile. It is the best feeling I have ever felt when she smiles because of me. I am going to spend most of my life now trying to make her happy. Kailee is doing very well and thanks for asking about her. she won't crawl for awhile. I was surprised at how long it takes for them to crawl too. She is sleeping better, which means I am sleeping better too.
