1. who knows?
She just did it because she found out Bill and Barb were sneaking off to be together. I think she's jealous and wants the attention.

Nikki seems to be an impulsive person anyway. She acts first and then later has to deal with the consequences, like her shopping addiction. I'm sure she hasn't thought it through yet.......

2. Oh, I had trouble with that last part. She said she was going to bring
another soul into the family so I thought she was going to try and get pregnant.

Which also makes me wonder why they don't have more kids with all that fertilizing going on.

5. you know, when she first said that.........
....she was bringing another 'soul' into the family, it seemed (to me) that it was a strange way to put it. When she first said it, I wasn't sure if she was talking about having a baby or something else.............

Then everyone else assumed she was talking about a baby. I just thought it was a strange way to say she wants another baby.

is Mormon lingo.

3. Nikki is driving me nuts
I can't stand her -- she's such a scheming little bitch. I can't wait for her outrageous debt to be discovered. I thought for sure last week that she would be caught when she left all of her receipts in the bed. Speaking of all of those receipts, if you were trying to hid all of your spending, would you keep all of those around? No way!

4. I think she is planning to get pregnant
I must say that I was impressed at how she defended the family when the goons showed up. I find the affair between Barb and Bill wonderful and they are indeed steamy scenes!!

6. I enjoyed the Barb and Bill scenes, too!
I thought it was sweet and wonderful the way he seemed to rediscover his passion for her. It's sad that he has two other wives to consider, though.

Nikki is out of her mind. It was way cool the way she stood up for the family. I feel that her trying to pull off this pregnancy thing is attention and jealousy. She wants the attention and adulation of being special. She knows that Barb can't give Bill more children, so she wants to do something Barb can't.

Another part is I think she heard a shred of truth in what her brother said, about Bill only taking her on because of the money he gave Bill for Barb's cancer treatment.

But I have to admit, the fact that she is playing these games is really irritating to watch. LOL!

7. I like Nikki because...
...she is such a contradiction. Morman prairie girl on the outside, and sex and the city on the inside!

BTW...why do these houses they live in not have grass in the back yard? It looks like sand or dirt. Is that some kind of Morman thing???

8. They are subconsciously recreating the compound
I am convinced that the story will eventually show that they are making a mini-compound in the backyard.

I LOVE Nikki, partly because she is so mixed up. She is such a bitch, but she loves the kids and would not let her "brother" alfie hurt Bill's son. She is evil, but only because she is selfish and wants the power. She probably should have held the position Alfie holds, but as a woman that would not work. She is both Roman and Bill rolled into one. I love her.

12. Not if she's on the pill
Which she obviously is still taking.

She just wants extra time with Bill and the attention not getting pregnant will bring her.

13. I was so surprised when I saw that this week!
Then for her to tell Barb she's trying for a girl?! She's incredibly manipulative isn't she?

It's difficult for me to not dislike this this character. One one hand, I love the actress portraying her for being so good at her job. LOL. On the other hand, this is such a sad statement on their situation.

Is it really natural (the way their religion states), for women to be sisters and simultaneously wives, or is this pitting them against one another as competitors and rivals?

I wonder how accurate a portrayal that is of a sister wife that feels the conflict of wanting her husband all to herself, having a public life with him, etc.?

Whatever the answer, I find the character of Nikki simultaneously fascinating, repellant, heartbreaking and loveable in spite of her petulance and sense of entitlement. I was impressed when she defended her family. Yet I'm disgusted with her when she's bullying Margene or lying to Barb and Bill.

Brava to Chloe Sevigny--this is Emmy caliber work!

14. It should be fun finding out...
...her insincere pregnancy efforts and her debts ought to be catching up with her. Even though she's not very likable I'd have to say it's pretty obvious she's the most interesting of the wives.
