Mad Men has been renewed!
I don't know how many others are watching it but I really enjoy it. I heard on MSNBC this morning that the show is losing money but they hope to recoup it with DVD/video sales.

1. I've grown to like it.
I find it a little depressing but it does make you think about how we choose to live our lives -- what it may have been like when society was more self-conscious but also how we may not have changed as much as we think.

Anyway, I'm glad it's going to continue. Thanks! :hi:

2. I admit it took me a couple of shows to really get into it
but I watch it every week now. There are some things about it that remind me of what it was like when I was a kid. I still remember my mom telling me how they (my parents and grandparents) thought it was cute when my older brothers would run around in their "space suits" which were actually, you guessed it, plastic bags from the dry cleaning. And then there was the "all divorcees are hot to trot" meme that was prevalent. All I know is that evlbstrd and I can spend hours PM'ing each other and discussing it.

5. Exactly - it's all the lie of what's on the outside --
in reality, their lives are very much like our own - rife with relationship problems, abuse, financial woes and general instability. It's like watching a forensics expert dig underneath the surface of Leave it to Beaver.

3. Oooh, I love the series, very thoughtful
it will be airing again in September 2008, I saw the announcement on the season finale.

This and Damages have kept me sane this season. :hi:

4. Oh thank dog - I'm hopelessly addicted. I'm surprised it's losing money,
it's brilliantly done. Then again, it's on AMC and has excellent production quality, so it probably doesn't get the viewers it would on a more popular channel and still costs a lot of money to make...

I, for one, will be buying it on DVD as soon as I see it.
