Survivor Tocantins: Episode 6 Discussion Thread
ITS ABOUT TIME!!!! I'm glad that March Madness is over and we finally had a new episode of Survivor to watch. I thought last night's episode was great. Its sets up what I expect will be the series of back stabs that Probst had been talking about. While I must admit I am sorry to see Sydney go (if for nothing else than her being so damned sexy), it was the best move for JT, but more on that later.

I loved that Coach fucked up teh beans. He is such an asshat. He throws unboiled river water in with the beans. Um, if you want your beans cooked more, let the others eat and then put them back on the stove. What a HUGE jerk. I agree with BRendan, "It's another one of those Coach Moments!" I think that statement is goign to eb huge next week Brendan will ahve a choice to make, and I think his dislike for coach will help him make his decision.

I thought the pig challenge was good. I have to say, the trips to beautiful waterfalls are one of the reasons I love this show. I used to travel a lot in my pre-married with kiddies days. These are places I would love to visit. I hope when my kids are older, we can visit some of these places. Anyway, iot was an exciting challange becaus eit was so close. I was pulling for JT. They are becoming the more likable tribe if only becauis eTyson and Coach are both annoying me. I think it was a good call to sen someone other than Taj to exhile. The thought it that it makes Joe tired for the IC, which turns out not to have mattered.

I was suprised that Taj left the idol in such a stupid place, but it worked out for her. I'm sure her "honesty" with JT helped make the decision. I also have to say, the idol was no where near as good as Bob's last year. But it seems to have worked. I think Steven played it all very well and is settign himself up as a power player. He had himself in a great postion and convinced JT that his real pair is JT and Steven, not Steven and Taj. Last night, JT had to make a tough call, but it was clear that Joe and Sydney were a pair. If JT got rid of Taj, he thought he left a pair in the game that he is not a part of. He thought he is now close to all three of his remaining tribemates. Eventually he will be the subject a huge backstab from Steven.

I felt like JT was goign to win that IC with teh slingshot. What kind of southern boy can't shoot rocks with a sling. Oh well. I think JT made teh right call is geting rid of Sydney. I think Joe played the game well, but he may have started a little too late. I say Joe goes next, and then the fun begins. Overall, a good episode that set up the fun that is sure to come.

1. Coach and Taj and Steven
You know, I go back and forth wondering if Coach's arrogance is just part of his game, or if he's really that way. Because it was really obnoxious to just dump dirty river water into the beans. Just because he likes his beans a certain way doesn't give him the right to just mess with them for everyone else. So I almost think he's trying to make himself unlikable deliberately, so that people consider taking him to the final two. I don't know. He could just really be that big of an asshole in real life. :)

As for Taj, Steven is playing a seriously hard core game, and she needs to watch her back. First, she needs to be very careful with that immunity idol, and she isn't doing that. Giving it to Steven was kind of dumb, IMO, because there's no reason for him to give it back to her. However, Steven is also playing a smart game, and he realized keeping Taj around because of her ties to the other tribe was the right thing to do. Fortunately JT realized it, too. I see Steven as the major player in the game so far, much moreso than Coach, Taj, or perhaps even Brendan.

Not sorry to see Sydney go, though she was cute. I think Joe started his game too late, but it was a nice try. I wonder when people will stop falling for fake idols, LOL. If you're the 4th or 5th person to go to exile, and you still find the idol, you should be very suspicious. However, I think you have to try it, just in case it is the idol.

Next week should be fun!

2. Its going to get dirty
I can;t wait to see the dirty looks fly around. Its going to be nasty once people who feel so confident get knocked. I think Coach goes first, and when that happens, Tysen will be a monster to deal with.

3. So glad it's back!
Coach is exactly what you called him, an asshat. That was my thought, too. After reading that he lied to his employers saying he was getting cancer tests but he was really going on Survivor -- I think he's an asshole in real life, too.

I was hoping Brendan would get the idea to make a fake idol, too. Imagine if Erinn had gone looking for it and it wasn't there and then Timbira lost -- she'd run and tell Coach, etc. that Brendan obviously had the idol. I was holding my breath that Timbira would win even though I like the other tribe better. Where do they get all these beads and things to make these fake idols?

I was glad to see Sydney go, I thought she was kind of a non-entity. Sexy women don't really appeal to me :D. I wouldn't have minded if Joe went either, he seems to be thinking with something other than his head.

4. Joe
He was relying on his charm and his play int he challenges, but thats not enough. You have to give people a reason to want you there.

5. But Erin will go looking for that idol
at some point. That is if she has time before the merge, which seems to be happening next week, and they don't end up switching camps.

That's not to say that Taj's and Brendan's secret pact will be foiled, but they will all know then that Brendan has the idol.

And Coach is a total moron, of the worst kind. The kind who thinks in his own mind that he is a genius.

I hope they boot him soon, although his ego about being the leader paired with his dim bulb will make him easy to manipulate.
