HR 875 and S 425
I'm not sure if anyone has posted about these two bills but these are very dangerous bills that will effect what we eat. These two bills will effectively industrialize all farmers. They will be forced to use drugs and chemicals, outlawing the backyard garden, non gmo seed, hunting, organic farms, raodside veggie/fruit stands, etc. I urge everyone to read these bills and contact their reps in Congress.

It is obvious that large Agribusiness has their hands all over these bills. Passage of these bills will severely limit the few freedoms we have left.

3. HR 875 "(2) to adulterate or misbrand any food in interstate commerce" would certainly affect many
foods particularly sea foods from foreign sources.

6. Fear tactics by some nameless opinion shaper working for Big Ag interests.
Take lots of money to plant all this negative BS on the web in hopes that someone won't bother reading the actual Bill.

This is a good Bill, despite what the pushers want you to think.

5. H.R. 875 has merits. Read the Bill,
All of the people posting how bad it is keep linking the scare mongering video's and blogs meant to enrage the reader.

Don't fall for it. This would put big ag on the hook for making you sick. Something they do everyday right now, but you likely never put the two together.

I'm a farmer. I have read the bill, and it just documents what I do as part of my organic farm as part of the way of doing business. This bill does not take any freedoms away from anyone, unless you like mixing crap into food and selling it as Natures Best. Even then, it doesn't take that freedom away, but it makes it too expensive to do so for any hopes of profit, by fining the crap meisters and food adulterers out of business.

I note that the O.P has appeared in several threads already, supporting the fear message, so I'm dubious of Sunwyns motivations here.

7. Okay, Sunwyn, put up or shut up
Post the relevant sections of HR 875 that:

require the use of drugs and chemicals

outlaw the backyard garden

ban non-GMO seed

ban hunting

ban organic farms

ban roadside produce stands

I've read the entire bill. (I also read S 425. It requires a traceability system for foods and gives the US government power to recall dangerous items, and that's all.) Those things aren't in there. In fact, this is the FIRST time I ever heard hunting mentioned in connection with HR 875.

8. Those parts are not there in specifics...nothing is
It is a vague bill that will allow the government to do as they wish. It is sponsered by a woman whose husband works for Monasanto. I posted this here because I thought it might be of interest. I thought it might increase letters from folks who would express concerns about they way food system runs now and perhaps people might take the time to express their ideas on how to improve this, including small farms. I am sorry to have offended you. I will make no more post at DU . No wonder newbies are afraid to say much here.

BTW, I have been a life long democrat who worked very hard to see Obama become president. I am not a shill not a fucking republican. Have a nice life.

10. They can't impose what is not in the bill.
Nothing in there allows then to do anything onerous. Perhaps you can try and explain what language, vague or not that will do all the things implied by your OP.

Unless you are done here, and thought you might have a chance and steering some people to reflexively oppose a good bill.

9. I have read both and I cannot find
anything in them. Please specifically note the language that you are referring to. How, specifically, would the bills "industrialize all farmers"? How will we be "forced to use drugs and chemicals?" Specifics, please!
