Farm Runoff Fouls Wells - NYT
From today's The New York Times,

Health Ills Abound as Farm Runoff Fouls Wells

By CHARLES DUHIGG
Published: September 17, 2009

MORRISON, Wis. — All it took was an early thaw for the drinking water here to become unsafe.

Runoff of waste from farm animals is said to be a source of pollutants in drinking water.

Articles in this series are examining the worsening pollution in American waters, and regulators' response.

1. My daughter is 50 years old and severely disabled due to farm
runoff - a virtual chemical soup - in our wells during my pregnancy. She has epilepsy, severe mental retardation and an undeveloped digestive system. Today Iowa has warned people not to use their well water but no one was warning us back then.
