1. I liked this part!

<Kerry spokesman David Wade hit back.

``Maybe this right-wing propaganda machine will demand the White House reimburse taxpayers for the all-time, record-breaking, one-third-of-his-presidency George Bush has spent on vacation,'' he said.>

2. What Petty Bullshit!
Give me a damn break! Well like David Wade said lets see how quick the make a statement about * and make him payback what he owes. Hell people have always missed in order to run for office. Hell that's nothing new. Just goes to show how damn desperate these people are. This is so damn petty and laughable it's unreal.

16. Shrub would probably just do what he did in TX....
So the second in line would get the $$ instead of it going back to the taxpayers...that way he could line Cheney's pocket like he did Rick Perry's in TX. If he had had to reimburse us taxpayers for all the time he was NOT in TX, we would ALL be millionaires down here.

State law down here had it that when shrub was out of state <which was pretty much ALLLLLLLLLL of the time> running for the prez in 2000, his daily salary was then given to the Lt Gov if chimp was out of the state for "longer than a 24 hr period"..it was around $300/day given to the Lt Gov <instead of his $20/day salary>.

Dem state lawmakers were quoted one time as saying that the "W" stood for Waldo--as in "WHERE IS WALDO" since shrub never seemed to have time for Texas while he was campaigning. Hmm..guess the same held true back in his Nat'l Guard days, too...

6. Don't let it get to you.
These RW bastards live on this crap. They want to stuff the competition with petty-ass bullshit that plays well in the media. It's crap, and they know it, but they get conservative airplay with it. It's not designed to work for you, just for Rethugs.

I heard this shit last year from Rethugs in MA. He's not at work, he's missing committee appearances. Massachusetts doesn't have two Senators anymore. Bite me. Most of these people couldn't even spell Senator, never mind figure out what they actually do or that Kerry had something like a 98% attendance record in Congress. Screw them and their pre-approived, I don't have a frickin brain to think for myself, Rethug sponsors.

So there. Nanananana!

9. Yeah, in their friggin dreams.
The Massachusetts Republican party couldn't find their own a-holes with both hands and a flashlight. They outspent Dems last fall in local State House elections 5-1. They fielded the most Rethug candidates ever. (And here I thought we had the state sprayed to get rid of creepy-crawlies like that.) They had the holy one, our own Repulsive Govnah Romney criss-crossing the state urging people to vote for his hand chosen candidates. And every frickin one of them lost. I think it's Romney's fault, but I may just be a bit too gleeful.

The only way they could beat Kerry is if they somehow had Kerry kidnapped, gave him a lobotomy, shaved his head and made him swim naked in Boston Harbor after a friggin Yankees float. And even then, my money's on Kerry. Seriously.

How many times to I have to say it? If Weld couldn't take that seat, it can't be done.

OMG Tay Tay! I'm laughing so hard! But you are telling it like it is because they would have to do that to beat him. And to think they even have a chance in hell especially with a damn bigot shows how ignorant these people are. They are a total joke!

15. We are not aloofs
Repeat after me, Massholes have a sense of humor. It's how we get through a friggin New England winter. We would die without it. I submit as evidence the following comment made on a MA blog that was written after the first Kerry V. Bush debate:

http://www.boston-online.com/common/cat_politics.html
Scroll down and search for keyword: debate.

Commenting on Bush, the less than shining intellectual light

Much of his two minute allotment for time was spent staring out into space trying to think up another line that was fed to him before the debate. It was painful to watch, yet there are still people who think this guy is competent. I'm recalling all of this because this morning outside of South Station there was a guy protesting because he claimed John Kerry put roofies in the President's water. That's a good way for die hard Bush fans to explain why the guy is absolutely brain dead.

That's like, my favorite Masshole line of all time. Kerry didn't easily outthink Bush at the debate. He cheated and drugged the bastard. LOL!

Really, we are a funny bunch. It's in the water.

18. OMG You Guys Are Wild!
There is some interesting thoughts and opinions in there. But hell is you don't have a sense of humor you will never make it in the world of politics LOL! That might explain why some of these dumbasses around here because a sense of humor is something that many are lacking that's for sure. If you was to just visit this sorry ass place you would see what I was talking about. It's no wonder democrats like myself are ready to move and are moving for that matter. As we say let the dummies have it. They don't have much that's for sure. Nothing worth staying around here for this state is a joke. I have always said that ever since my parents moved her from Fla. when I was young.

21. Roofies in water
Not sure what roofies are but, the next claim may be that this was merely part of a much larger democratic campaign where all of them are doing this under the very noses of the secret service - which explains why Bush always seems vacant. I am impressed Kerry looked so innocent (may be the oft sited former altar boy past) while participating in this and not letting our a huge grin as the drugs worked.

Do you think he really believed this?

22. No, No, No, No
The roofies comment is a reference to a pill style drug that can wind up in the drinks of unsuspecting people and render them incapable of making decisions. (The date rape drug.) Yes, we are crude people. Yes, I am aware that this is a serious, serious subject.

But the thought that there was an actual real live MA Rethug who couldn't accept the fact that Kerry just stomped on * at the first debate and had to come up with a truly stupid excuse (and one in poor taste at that) just tickles me no end. Roofies in his drink. What a retard. (It brings up all the funny anti-Kerry stuff I have heard through the years. Stupid Rethugs. They had their chance to defeat Kerry with Weld and they have never gotten over the fact that Kerry won that race. So they have to make up tinfoil hat excuses. LOL! All stupid MA Rethug comments eventually come down to his hair. LOL! Another stupid Rethug thing. Sorry, I can't explain all these references, but they are really funny. My apologies. Just rememb ering a few things.)

24. joke understood
Didn't know the word, but thought the idea humerus (not to mention unnecessary - Bush is inarticulate at his best) and should have indicated that I was responding in a joking way as well. (Should have put LOL, but I'm not good at that.

I was still just laughing at it. Honestly, who does that kind of thing. How screwed ujp in the head do you have to be to have a sign out acusing someone of that. Wow! Rethug minds work in mysterious ways.

14. Ginny: I'm drooling over your .sig line
I adore that quote. Geez, that must have been said by a statesman. Where, oh where can America get statemen like that to lead us? Jayzus, we used to like smart people. We used to like inspirational people. Now we are lead by mental midgets who couldn't outhink a gerbil. I am both inspired by that quote and kind of bummed out. Sigh!

19. that's why I put it there
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 12:20 PM by ginnyinWI
I want people to see that who JK is comes out of a core value system like that. I transcribed it off of my copy of "Going Upriver". When I read it I hear him speaking it in my mind. That's my president.

Our current president has no core--he's one of the "men of small mind" JK was referring to.

23. Great quote
I loved that speech in the movie. I love the fact that the complexity of the thought shines through the complexity of the language. Removing any part would diminish what he is saying. His voice sounded so impassioned as he said this. If I read one more analysis that is critical of Kerry's speaking, I will through the newspaper across the room.

It's weird that we want language that inspires, but also would like complicated issues reduced to short bullet points.

Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 01:26 PM by ginnyinWI
you know, I was thinking of just including the first sentence, but you're right, it needs the whole thing to have maximum impact.

there is such a good rhetorical rhythm to it, that it inspires.

edit: I think he's got that passion back in full, judging from hearing him lately. :)

8. These must be the same folk
who figured Kerry was #1 Liberal in the Senate, neglecting to say that was 2003, when he was indeed missing most of the time, so the average was based on what, three votes? He's more like 11th overall, but that doesn't sound as impressive.

So he was gone enough in their eyes not to collect a paycheck, but enough to decide he was the #1 liberal that year. Riiiight.

What ever happened to intelligent debate in this country. When was the last time we had that. Or did we ever?
