7. Careful, this was only in Time. I had the chance to thumb thru the book
this week-end and none of this crap is there.

What is there, however, is the claim that Edwards tried to convince the campaign to contest, though it stays very vague on how hard and how long he tried. Given this claim, I find very interesting that he never speaks about voting rights (and not only BBV).

8. ok thanks....I think my comments were ambiguous enough
that they won't come off as disrespectful. I'd honestly like an answer because I used to like them a lot but the press I've seen lately has made me think differently.

11. I saw your post and it was good.
His post, however, was really disappointing and I am wondering to how many posts he will answer. Most do not really ask questions, but state what they like or ask him to run.

13. Thanks. Yeah I agree
He really just started a thread to answer questions instead of to post a diary. Which I guess is fine if he really spends an entire hour answering questions....

20. With the new Woodward info
And other inside info on Lockhart and McCurry - I wonder who exactly he was trying to convince. "The campaign" could mean a variety of people and maybe not Kerry himself or even his most trusted staff. Maybe if he talked about it now, more questions would be asked and he might have to clarify exactly who he was trying to convince then - and that might make the Clintonistas angry.

Hey, it's possible.

3. I'd ask in a way that lets him know that we understand the media may wish
to mischaracterize any Democrat's comments and emphasize a negative thrust that was never intended. May as well hear what he has to say.

5. Here's what I'm thinking
Senator Edwards,

My own mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was 22 years old (the same age as Cate I believe) and I’ve admired your wife Elizabeth so much for her courage going through her troubled times with so much grace.

But I must admit I’ve been a bit surprised lately by some of the quotes comparing your family to the Kerry/Heinz family. Can you clarify Elizabeth’s comments from the Time article? http://www.time.com/time/magazine/printout/0,8816,1538640,00.html

Thank you Senator for visiting DKos.

negative aspect and Elizabeth just missed the opportunity to be more clear in her reply. Hard to be on all the time when you're traveling and still recovering. It was like that in 2003 for JK, and he's a pretty experienced speaker.

14. I guess this is a new style of blogging.
Post a content-empty blog. Generate posts. Answer to a very few that can be answered by using the stump speech and ignore the rest.

Compared to threads started by Kerry or Feingold, this is so disappointing.

15. very much so ....my patience with him is waning
to be honest, part of the reason I asked is because I think he's full of .....
I used to like him ..but my patience is waning. I think that they had Elizabeth make those comments on purpose both to support the negative conventional wisdom on JK (that he's "out-of-touch") and to separate himself from JK. It won't end up mattering in the end because I think Edwards has no chance in 2008 and if JK is the nominee again Edwards certainly won't be the VP.

18. Me too
The strange thing is that all these things attack one of his own major pluses - that he was SEEN as positive and nice. There were undertones of sharp elbows even in 2004, although that may be more normal than not. As I have volunteered, I've been with Democrats - and I have seriously heard Edwards mentioned only once - as a Kerry misjudgement. Nj may be atypical.

he could vote for Edwards in the GE depending who the GOP nominee would be. He is concerned he is too light-weight. I cannot say I disagree.

I think Chris Dodd is right when he says that, after these last 6 years, experience may matter.

His point was that Edwards was such a great man because he brought Beers in the team.

if I recall correctly.

It was during spring 2003, I think. This is why I had a laugh (and corrected the post on kos).
