The Kerry money issue just appeared on CNN.
On their segment on bloggers as a big story today. They referenced MYDD on the portion I saw. This appears to be a planned effort IMO, right on time for the evening news. I'll wait and see if it appears later.

I think CNN should not of aired this without a comment from Kerry's office. I hope he requests time to reply to the charge that he has not given his fair share.

I would bet money that this is a Clinton dirty trick. Could it be possible that many blogs have sold out to the Clinton's for money.

1. mydd.com has nothing to do with the Kerry effort
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 05:00 PM by Mass
(in the open at least).

It is an effort that is aiming at representatives that are running unopposed or nearly unopposed and who are sitting on big piles of money. It lists all of these people, do not target anybody in particular even if he names a few that have the most money. In fact, one of the founders of this effort has posted on kos what he thought of the targetting of presidential candidates and how it was useless.

The NYT and Ezra Klein created the confusion, and kos was only too happy to follow, as was CNN.

Did they talk extensively about Kerry or did they quote his name at the same time as Meehan and Markey?

Note: a visit to mydd.com is very instructive. Why the other blogs are busy talking about Kerry and David Wade's comment, they focus on their goal, getting money for HOUSE races, and they certainly are not Kerry's supporters.

2. They specifically mentioned Kerry as an example then showed the
list on MYDD. I hadn't checked out that site so thanks for the information.

3. Someone jabbed at Kerry on a Heath Shuler Thread today on DK
While I support Shuler in principle, and voted most of the entries up, I could not recommend a dig at JK (or comments about Redskins either). Kerry has done well by his peeps. Just wish he could have spared a dollar for David Gill, but hard to support everyone, as WEL would say.

I didn't give a dime to DSCC or DCCC. Too many candidates like David Gill who need the help, so that's where I've put my money.

5. I saw a poll that Gill was within striking distance!
What do you recommend I do to help before election day? I've been so swamped with school I haven't had much time to get out and volunteer. Are you involved - do you know where they need the most help?

I have to go to St. Louis on election day or else I'd help drive people to the polls and stuff, but I really need to canvass or something before the election. I wish someone would give him a last second infusion of cash.

BTW, do you have a link to the latest poll?

11. Not really with school and stuff
And, no offense, but I'd rather help elect my hometown rep first. I both live and go to college in the 15th and it deserves a real honest liberal like David Gill instead of a Bush rubber-stamper like Tim Johnson. Downstate Illinois gets ignored enough as it is - Gill has gotten no media attention so I wanna do what I can to help him.

www.gill2006.com for any kind Kerrycrats with a few bucks to spare!

12. No offense taken ... I grew up and went to school in the 15th too
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 01:23 PM by demdiva
(grew up in Bloomington-Normal and went to school at U of I) so I'm definitely supportive of helping downstate democrats ... even democrats I know run as republicans because they think they'll never get elected otherwise

Since I moved to DC I have to (shamefully) admit I haven't paid much attention to politics is Central Illinois, but I will throw David Gill a little $$$. Thanks for the link!

8. No, not to the CNN segment.
It appeared briefly on a portion of the show that highlights the top discussions on the major blogs. They have a transcript of the other segments, but not this one.
It was brief, and I heard nothing on it later on.
