This is well worth it!

Great motivation:

>

For the last two years, something big has been going on in America. All of us got knocked on our ass in 2004 – me included. But we got up, dusted ourselves off and decided our country mattered more than our pride. We fought back. We went online. We organized.

This cycle, the netroots picked 3 Senate candidates and 16 House candidates where you knew we had to win. Red states, blue states, it didn’t matter, you changed the rules and we’re better off for it. Now we are on the verge of winning. So let’s finish the Republicans off, let’s go for three at the buzzer and go home with the win. It’s time for a new team.

So here’s the deal; vote for your favorite House and Senate netroots candidates on Wednesday, November 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST. The Senate candidate and the 2 House candidates with the most votes will get the last JohnKerry.com fundraising email of the cycle. We’ll challenge our 3 million person online community to get these fighters over the top in the last few days.

Like we say in Boston: vote early and vote often...good luck to everyone in the days to come.

John Kerry

3. I wish I could vote for our house candidate
Jim Esch. But he's decided not to accept any PAC money from anybody. So maybe I'll go vote for the Nebraksa candidate from the 3rd NE district--Scott Kleeb. If you all need someone to vote for, I'd recommend him. Here's his site: http://www.scottkleeb.com.

5. LOL! I was timing how long...
...it would take for someone to comment about that. Isn't he JUST TOO YUMMY??? And I'm a happily married woman, but...YEOW, BABY! :loveya:

6. Funny post from Andrew Sullivan on that.
He said he didn't know whether he was a Democrat or a Republican, but he would DEFINITELY vote for him (Scott's straight though, right?) regardless.

8. I don't know if he's straight or not, but he's single.
Poor guy--I almost feel sorry for him. He's got terrific ideas and is really smart, and what most people notice first is how hot he looks. I suppose a lot of people would LOVE to have that problem, but I bet it gets old after awhile, especially if you're trying to be taken seriously for your brains.

I have a good friend (a single gal) whose cousin is volunteering for him, and she keeps trying to get my friend to come visit so she can meet him. If I were her and had the chance to meet a really smart, good looking Democrat who for whatever unexplained twist of fate hasn't yet been snapped up, I'd jump at it. But I think she's a little scared about that notion. I'm still working on her. :)

7. A Kleeb is running. Okay, that's one vote
I have to vote for someone raising money to run, who is a Dem and who has the name Kleeb.

I mean, really, no choice here.

Kleeb, buddy, this one's for you!

9. A family name?
I never heard of the name before, and was pronouncing it with a long "e" sound. Then I found out on his website it's a short "e". It's a rather cool name, I think.

10. We have a poster who comes in here, when school allows
named Kleeb. Old-timer on this group. I wonder if there is a family connection?
