It doesn't look good. From what Virginians are saying, the big Webb precincts are included in this, and his numbers overall are not as good as Kaine's.

Webb 48.40%

But this thing is so tight. I think Firespirit was right. The voter intimidation made a difference in such a tight race. If it's even halfway close, and Webb loses, he should fight this thing. We've got the evidence of their thuggery.

Edited to add: here's a link to the article on Kellam's concession (which includes your bad numbers????):

36. He also blew it by blowing off 4 debates and the Virginian Pilot
They had no choice but to endorse Thelma Drake. I don't know how effective those flyers are -- doesn't everybody just toss them?

I met him on Sunday, and I thought he was very nice. But somehow not hungry enough to make it happen in a difficult race. I think we should run David Ashe again in '08. Or maybe '10, so it's not a presidential year.

I think people should stop blaming Kerry for losing Virginia -- I mean, we ran a former Republican and an old family name candidate (Kellam = Kennedy around here) and we've already lost one, and the other is too close to call. I think it's possible even Mark Warner would not have won Virginia as a presidential candidate -- they just vote differently on a national level as a state level. Kaine won Virginia Beach; tonight's a very different story.

It was the racist ad and the general conservatism of TN - Ford was slipping in the polls before the "gaffe" which had ZERO to do with the result.

If anyone tries to blame Kerry then respond that Kerry deserves the majority of credit for his other supported candidates winning. They can't have it both ways.

It was a naysayer that I responded to cause Harold wanted JK to apologize when he did nothing wrong. Harold lost this race because of the ad, and well, he was a Ford.

Though the Ford name is popular in West and Middle TN, it was a liablity going in the race. It was a matter of time that race and family issues were going to be brought up dirty by the GOP.

I agree with you, I think he wanted it that way. They ran from Kerry in 2004, and Gore in 2000. I am glad Kerry helped in out. Very glad.

It looks like Webb is going to be victorious, but Allen will probably demand a recount whether it is under 1% or not.
