Anyone in the mood to defend Kerry's honor?
I e-mailed him. bit you can only address so many lies in one letter. He has is facts wrong and his lies twisted and he even insults the Senator's looks. If I wasn't in good company I might even suggest this guy "gets off" on being a jerk.

Wow, makes me wonder why he felt a need to write this opinion piece.

Why? Because attacking Kerry is always good copy. And, if my North Star were the GOP’s good fortune, I would light a candle every night at my Lee Atwater shrine in prayer that the Kerry baloney would leap once more into the grinder. After all, he’s the most beatable of Democrats. His political instincts are duller than a prison-cafeteria spork. And never in my lifetime have we seen a presidential candidate with a more thumbless grasp of the way average Americans talk or live.

1. Ask him how he got 59 million votes then
10 million more than Clinton got and 6 million more than Gore.

2. JOnah Goldberg is a RW neocon
Whatever he says has no importance. I would say that being attacked by this idiot is a badge of honor.

(I think he writes for NRO).

9. And son of Lucianne Goldberg
who convinced Linda Tripp to make public the story of the lovely young woman she happened to befriend who was an intern named Monica in the White House

There is no reason to write him - he won't change. though I did see a photo of him and, well, if there are women somewhere blogging about RW neo-cons, I guarantee you they don't randomly create picture threads. (I don't even want to think of a Goldberg swimming pool photo.)

As to more important things, he is a complete loser.

3. Oh, man,
that's Jonah Goldberg - notorious babyfaced Freeper blogger and one of the most egregious chickenhawks in existence.

Don't waste your breath...

Some of his rantings: http://author.nationalreview.com/?q=MjE5NQ==

Jonah Goldberg: Iraq Was a Worthy Mistake - Los Angeles Times http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-goldberg19oct19,0,5993806.column?coll=la-opinion-center

And there's lots more just like those...

Anyway, I let him have it with both barrels and now, at least I feel better.

"despite the kind of sympathetic coverage that only alleged victims of the “Republican attack machine” get"

From where did you get this idea? Coverage of Kerry has been constantly hostile--unless he is present talking about issues. You must be thinking of the news shows like Stephanopolous and Wolf Blitzer where he is actually queried about the Mid East conflicts or conservative Larry Kudlow where he sat down and cogently discussed his views on the Small Business Committee's agenda. On those shows it isn't the coverage that is sympathetic so much as Kerry demonstrating a command of issues far and away stronger than any other national figure.

When the news shows talk about him politically it is never sympathetic.

A conservative columnist in Kansas City using a column to discourage Kerry from running again is almost defacto evidence that he is more formidable than the media would have us believe."

I dont know if it got through---when I went back to the link brought me to a sign up page and I didnt go further. I forgot that he was real neonon blowhard. It is nice that he is concerned about Kerry.

Why does this joker spend so much time on Kerry if he does not have a chance?

6. Good point. And, he repeats all the RW trash about Kerry's personality
and motives. Intellectually unimpressive? That statement alone tells you he hasn't a clue. He was electable, but no one liked him? Isn't part of being electable being liked? Then he mentions Gore, Clinton, and Edward's yet, Gore never ran a great campaign and was known as boring, then Edward's, well if people gushed over him, why didn't he get the nomination and Clinton, well, pundits like him for various reasons.
The most inciteful thing he said, was he knows liberal pundits. I wonder which ones? Perhaps those working for other candidates perhaps.

7. Rarely bother with him
He pretty much echos the worst garbage from the right wingers so I generally ignore him. I did wind up commenting on him twice recenlty at Liberal Values if anyone is interested:

http://liberalvaluesblog.com/?s=jonah+goldberg

One of the posts does involve Kerry peripherally but is more on most Democrats vs. Bush on the war.

11. Wow -- a Bush voter heeded your call:
http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/166395

In response to the Jan. 18 column "John Kerry in '08? Perish the thought."

Jonah Goldberg's opinion about Sen. John Kerry was mean-spirited, below the belt and unworthy of any serious professional writer.

I did not vote for Kerry, and I do not agree with his ideas nor the presentation of them. This is a right we all have as citizens. But to resort to character assassination is unacceptable. Where has civility gone? Goldberg should be ashamed.
