Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 02:15 PM by TayTay
But please, people, go, post, say something. I mean, come on, who is this group named after anyway?

I'll be checking names off my list later on. LOL!

4. I'm so moved by what he wrote, that I need a few minutes to feel
coherent enough to reply. That and I just read what happened to Brian Freedman. I will confess to crying after I read that, it's so horrible.

9. I did a comment. In other news, I just e-mailed with my friend here in VB (she's
not a Kerry supporter). Now she wants me to do a post on her blog and cross post to the dailykos diary. There's going to be a lot of support for John Kerry everywhere. He's going to find a lot of takers for this new campaign.

5. How are you doing, BLM, by the way?
Just wanted to let you know, as another member of the Southern Contingent, that I'm thinking about you -- given your knowledge of government corruption and what Kerry has done to combat it, this must have been very tough for you to take.

6. Of course - because Kerry was the ONLY hope for the corruption to be fully vetted.
I am sickened beyond belief - and I will DEMAND Kerry go after them anyway, even if it's elite in his own party, and use the internet to be the force behind the truth he knows. Something he didn't have before.

I intend to make it a point to talk to him at some point and make it clear that he owes this country that truth - because he's the ONLY one who CAN do it.

8. I think that plumb subcommittee assignment in the SFRC
is a big deal. I assume it is the corruption around the Iraq War that upsets you the most, and that is where he will start. I don't think what you're calling for and what he's calling for are actually that different -- because it was the lying and the government secrecy that got us into this war in the first place.

12. No - the corruption of Iraq war is a RESULT of the continuing coverups of IranContra, BCCI
and Iraqgate. 9-11 and Iraq war would never have happened had those crimes of office been fully vetted.

Clinton was complicit in the coverup of the outstanding matters of those crimes that he inherited when he took office. He chose to not pursue them. And his WH actively participated in the coverup of CIA drugrunning story uncovered in 1996.

23. It's weird how seeing these good and true comments
is at once welcome and produces tears. I know in truth we have not lost a true, brave strong leader, he simply will have a different title than expected.

He also is right that what was accomplished is real. In 2006, I am firmly convinced that it was John Kerry, in support of Howard Dean's efforts who promoted and helped people who were unlikely to have a chance win - in districts that Emanuel wouldn't have supported a challange in who made the difference. He also struggled in 2004 and 2005 to transform the bitter disappointment to a crusade to work harder, rather than dropping out in disgust. It was not Bill Clinton who taught us to fight - rants against newsmen is not fighting back. Recommitting yourself and pushing others to do so is fighting back.

Without primary GOTV money and Kerry's incredibly selfless endorsement of Webb, would he have even made it out of the primary. Would Allen have even been threatened by Miller?

25. That's always been my favorite
He's gotten it about our corporate war policy for a long long time. The fight against communism was a fight the corporatists waged to protect themselves. That's all. Business and trade is great, but it's supposed to be for the benefit of real live human beings, not a few corporate elites. That's the real promise of America, economic equality and opportunity for the individual. Neither communism or corporatism provide that for the people. That's the turn America needs to make, to be about the people, to fulfill the promise. Let America Be America Again.

It occurred to me a couple of days ago that all my work references are friggin' DEAD!! I was thinking about looking for something because of health insurance too, but I don't know that we could get anything with our pre-existings anyway. We're on a waiting list for Oregon's subsidized insurance, I don't know how long that will take though. Plus Google up and decided to hate me this week. Not a good week, at all. Do you have a specific job in mind?

29. I've looked through the local university's
staff positions, and it looks like pretty much everything for office professionals (kill me now, that means wearing something other than jeans!) require word, spreadsheet, presentation and desktop. (Among my many old professions was typesetter, I've held every job there is at a newpaper other than publisher or running the press! but still, I don't know the new stuff. Arg) So anyway, my laptop has a free 60 trial for the above, so I downloaded them yesterday and found some free tutorials and am going to go through them and learn all this stuff and then take my hat in my hand and hope for the best. I don't know anywhere else around here that will offer insurance and we quite stupidly didn't follow up this time with COBRA and went past the 63 days without insurance and are no doubt now uninsurable.

This is killing me. I'll barely have time to write for myself, because I still edit for the poetry review, and that will take up the weekends. But the newspaper here doesn't offer health benefits and my husband is working from home consulting (he got a year contract) so there's money coming in, finally! (really ran through our retirement) but no insurance.

I'm too old for this. LOLOLOLOL sigh. ;-)

What are you going to look for?

31. omg...
you mean they're really dead, dead. I thought you meant no longer in business.
I'm not looking forward to this, it isn't where I saw myself at this stage of life. Oh well, it could be worse! And it might even be fun, sort of. If they offer a lot of vacation time. I am such a spoiled American!

How's your business? How's the grandbaby?

32. Yeah, KJ, DEAD dead
I swear it had never crossed my mind. I've done legal work, payroll, medical transcription. Figured if I ever wanted to go back to work, no big deal. But these bosses were in their 50's and 60's. They're friggin' DEAD. Maybe it wouldn't matter so much. I've also got this stupid thyroid forgetfulness and a few similar issues. I just get tired of the month to month grind. Business is okay, but there's always anxiety with wondering if anybody will cancel, how to make up any unexpected gaps, people wanting $10,000 technology for $100, etc. I don't know. I'm probably just having a mini-freak-out.

Grandbaby is stupendous!! He wuvs his 'me'. Of all things to call me. I was really getting miffed. Christmas came and he learned Santa right off. He knew both dogs' names. He could point to pictures and name their friends. But no grammy, nanna, nothing. I finally got 'me'. I'll take it! My youngest is dating a girl with a 3 year old, so that's kind of fun too. He's so sweet, he always wants to play with 'Baby Ryland'. I guess I should count my blessings.

Been 3 years for my daughter and I now, that we've been without insurance. Arnold's "health care plan" is going to hurt more than help. Hope you get something soon.

I read Kurtz at WaPo how Kerry drones, and the beltway was mad at losing a winnable race. That's the line, but they didn't lift a finger becasue they thought it WASN'T winnable, and were waiting for Bill3 anway. Liars, all.
